I tried using the Tools > Experimental technique to remove duplicates and then used Locate on disc to show the duplicates side by side. I then found you only need to use Locate on disc without the Experimantal bit. It showed that ins some cases I had 5 copies of the same image (even though I religiously check the do not import duplicates box when importing new images). If one uses the "list" view after the Locate on disk, the duplicate images have an extra number showing which multiple of the image. It is then easy (though tedious if there are lots) to highlght these and just delete them.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. It sounds like you do already know how to delete a web album. If not, see this article: http://50.22.81.91/~chrisg/2010/02/deleting-from-picasa-web-albums/
Otherwise, I refer you to the picasa user forums at: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Picasa?hl=en

Hi,

I have an issue with Picasa. I have been using Picasa and Picasaweb simultaneously and Have syncd both of them. I had to do a complete re-install of my PC and after that, When I mapped my photos in Picasa and tried Syncing, It is creating a lot of duplicate folders in Picasaweb with the same Album name. It seriously becomes a pain to delete them online. Is there a solution for this?
Pls advise. Thanks in Advance.

Duplicates. I always x on the area not to copy duplicates. But when working with pictures in Picasa, for some reason, next thing I have a picture that says, copy 2 of ... and copy 3 of... and even copy 4 of.... I have had to manually take them out and that is when I am sometimes trying to get rid of copy 2, the next thing I have another copy. I think I have gotten rid of the copy 2's and when I get to the bottom of my screen they are now copy 3. I have just transferred pictures from my 35 mil slides onto Picasa planning on making a Gift CD and I already have more than one copy of these pictures. So before going any further I have to clear my computer of the extra's. It is very time consuming and has really put me off of the job. But I want to make a CD of our children when they were younger and we were using a 35 mil camera. The projector no longer works and this way they each could have copies of the pictures.

One day I will get back to it, but have to take a break and rethink my plan.
